Joseph Hoffman is a Privacy Manager at LevelUP Consulting Partners.  Joseph spent six years as an Intelligence Officer with the Defense Intelligence Agency.  He was also an Intelligence Operations Officer with Special Operations Command – Europe for just over two years. His combined experience as a federal civilian and Army Officer includes collecting biometrics, navigating GDPR requirements, managing a $3.2 million federal contract, bulk data ingestions, assisting partner nation security services, drafting bilateral agreements, briefing senior Pentagon officials, preparing multiple Presidential briefs, and liaising with diplomatic personnel from over a dozen European and Central Asian nations.

Experience, Skills, and Expertise – Joseph has experience within the consulting firm realm, including an engagement with a Fortune 500 client where he identified legal privacy requirements, interviewed senior executives, and implemented multiple OneTrust modules. Joseph has developed assessment products to ensure client compliance with various privacy statutes and jurisdictional requirements, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, CAN-SPAM, COPPA, etc.

Certifications and Education – Joseph is an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional – US (CIPP/US).  He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina.  He also holds a Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law.  As an undergraduate, Joseph spent two summers studying in Shanghai, China.
